NURSING CALL TO ACTION TEST DAY as we BUILD and ASSESS our Georgia Nurses Grassroots network
GEORGIA Nurses ....today we are having a NURSING CALL TO ACTION TEST DAY as we BUILD and ASSESS our Georgia Nurses Grassroots network to respond to legislative call to actions during the legislative session and throughout the year. As you may know we have numerous upcoming legislative initiatives including a RN Nursing Compact Licensing Bill and a Study Committee Bill aiming to explore how the APRN Workforce can help improve Georgians Access to Care (when barriers to APRN practice are removed).
Please immediately complete the survey and forward the link to other RNs, APRNs, APRN/RN program faculty and students, and nurses who are interested in APRN/RN issues in your organization or association.
Please fill out survey below.
Message from the AACNS President:
We need CNS APRN representation at the Capital to support Senator Renee Unterman during the upcoming legislative sessions. There is strength in numbers. We need to stand united to show our constituent backing. Please see below for the 2017 initiatives. Please also encourage sign ups from our nurses and students. There are also sign-ups for Legislative Boot Camp for learn how to effectively advocate with talking points to legislation for our healthcare access in Georgia and the nursing profession.
Senator Unterman has 3 main initiatives for 2017:
1) Compact Nursing Licensure is being reintroduced
2) Study Proposal for APRN full practice authority to improve healthcare access for Georgians
3) Tax incentives for APRN preceptorship
Thank you for your time and support.

The 2017 Legislative session starts Jan 9th and we have a lot of work to do. Wesley Wells & Cathy Cannella have participated in the grass root boot camp at the capital on 11/29 and have an informational report out to share with us in January. See below for our picture at the Capital with Senator Renee Unterman.
The CAPRN L.E.A.D. Program is here! (Legislative Education Advocacy Development) & Sign up today!
The Georgia Coalition of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (CAPRN) is excited to once again sponsor the APRNs of the Day Event at the Georgia State Capital on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays through the 2017 legislative session. The purpose of the event is to increase APRNs visibility and presence at the Georgia legislature, so we can better advocate for both improved access to health care for our patients and for removal of existing barriers to APRN practice. As you may know, Georgia physicians have had a daily presence at the state capital each day of the legislative session for many years. We hope that APRNs in our state will consider stepping up to this challenge to increase our visibility and coming more involved in professional advocacy. If you can sign up to go with others in your district, this will make an even bigger positive impact. The CAPRN lobbyist will be available to you as a resource the day of your service as APRN of the Day.
Watch this 7 minute Video to see what you can expect at the State Capital when you are APRN of the Day!
Please watch these two short Educational Videos in preparation for establishing a connection with your legislator:
